- Fuel Petcock
Hello everyone,
I’m just curios as to what position my fuel petcock should be turned to? In the few months I’ve had my bike (Cafė 125cc) it’s stalled about 3 times when coming to a complete stop at a junction, which led me to think maybe the fuel petcock is turned to the wrong position? If we’re using a clock face as a reference point should it be turned to 12:00, 3:00, 6:00 or 9:00?
Many thanks!
Normally it’s 6 o clock on mine and then 12 o clock for reserve tank and 9 o clock for off. Maybe the idle speed needs adjusting.
Yeah mine is at 6’oclock too, any idea how to adjust the idle? I don’t know if yours is different on the apache but mine is on the left side of the bike on the engine, it’s a black switch but it only really has two options. Really low idle and normal, any idea how I can adjust it abit more too increase it further?
Before messing with the idle just have a check and make sure the HT lead is on the plug properly and with the engine properly warmed up make sure the choke is off (black lever on the carb is in the down position) the revs at idle should be 1250 to 1450.
The idle is a screw on the carb. It will be different depending on the carb type
The black switch….if it’s the same as my engine then that sounds like the choke….goes up and down?…move it up for choke on and help to start the engine in cold weather and down for choke off when the engine is warmed up.

Cheers mate I’ll give that a go tomorrow morning, only problem with the café is that it doesn’t have a rev counter so you can’t see what the idle is at all, I’ll just have to play it by ear haha
If it’s still under warranty go to the dealer and tell them the problem you’re having.
